Have been using Perma Gloss for various fishing rod projects for years. Its very durable and will mix with Automotive Urethane paints for the activator part.
Did this with some PPG Paint on 2 rods one was done in 2007, and the other 2014. Both are still very much utilized today and last season with much success. Even though the older job does have a few chips, I suspect that product protected the blank during some very harsh drops, spills on craggy, rocky shorelines.
Will definitely be utilizing on future builds this coming year.
